Motivation Monday: The Power of Pursuing Your Dreams
Share
As a kid, I dreamed of playing in the NFL for the Chicago Bears. However, I made a tough call in high school and decided to focus on golf and wrestling instead of football. Wrestling was a grind, and I only wanted to wrestle at the state level. But golf was different – it was a fall and spring sport, and I was able to see huge improvements in my game after getting new clubs as a freshman.
I dedicated myself to golf and eventually set my sights on becoming a pro. But as I entered college, I found myself drawn back to wrestling. While there isn't a pro wrestling league like the NFL or PGA, wrestling's path led me to mixed martial arts (MMA). I made it to state as a freshman wrestler and went on to play semi-pro football, earning multiple MVP awards.
Through it all, I've learned that there's a lot of crossover between sports. If you're fast, strong, balanced, mobile, and have good hand-eye coordination, you can excel in almost any sport. But it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to succeed.
So, if you're feeling discouraged or unsure about pursuing your dreams, remember that anything is possible with the right mindset and effort. Don't be afraid to take risks and explore different paths – who knows where they might lead you? Keep pushing yourself, and never give up on your passions and aspirations.
